Day 2 English for Beginner – Most beginners get this wrong (but not anymore!)

The other day, I was talking with one of my Turkish students. She looked at me and said, “You’re so long!”
For a moment I was confused—then I realized she meant to say “You’re so tall!”

In English, when we talk about height, we use tall and short:

She is tall.
He is short.

Mistakes like this are completely normal when you’re learning English. The key is to notice them, laugh a little, and keep going!

Let’s practice! Here are a few more simple sentences using I, you, he, she, we, and they:

I am happy.
You are kind.
He is tall.
She is short.
We are friends.
They are tired.
I am strong.
You are funny.
He is smart.
She is young.
We are ready.
They are busy.

If you want to learn English the natural way, my Short Stories for Beginners Book helps you absorb grammar and vocabulary correctly through real, everyday stories.

Happy Learning,
Camille
