Day 4 English for Beginner – Is reading in English worth it?

I hear this all the time: “Can’t I just watch free videos online?” Videos are great for quick tips. But when you actually want to remember what you learn — and use it in real life — you need structure and daily practice.

That’s why I created my Short Stories for Beginners Book. Each story teaches real English in context, with simple quizzes and listening practice so you learn faster.

Here’s a small peek inside my Beginner English Short Stories book

Story 2: Camille’s Family (True Story)

My name is Camille. I am married. My husband’s name is Calvin. I am his wife. We have three children. Their names are Maddox, Ivory, and Kairo. Maddox is ten years old, Ivory is seven years old, and Kairo is five years old. Maddox is the oldest child. Ivory is the middle child. Kairo is the youngest child. We call the youngest child “the baby.” Maddox and Kairo are boys. They are brothers. Ivory is a girl. She is Maddox and Kairo’s sister. Maddox and Kairo are Ivory’s brothers. Maddox, Ivory, and Kairo are siblings. My parents are named Tom and Helen. Helen is my mother. Tom is my father. I am their daughter. Helen is my kids’ grandmother (grandma). Tom is my kids’ grandfather (grandpa). They are my children’s grandparents. They love my children. My children love their grandparents.

After reading, my students answer easy questions like:

✅ “Who is Camille married to?”
✅ “Who is the oldest child?”
✅ “What is another name for grandmother?”

Each story builds reading, vocabulary, and confidence — step by step.

Your doing so great! See you tomorrow,

Camille
