Readers are leaders! I always heard this growing up and I believe it to be true.
Reading does not just make leaders but also makes great English language learners! Reading is an excellent way to learn a language, which is why I wrote a book with short stories and an English Dialogue book!
Stories can transport us to new worlds and when we learn a language through stories, we’re usually more relaxed and more likely to learn without realizing we’re learning. We also read books we are interested in and therefore have more drive (desire) to understand what we are reading!
Reading expands our vocabulary but in CONTEXT which is the key to grasping the vocabulary. We also learn grammar naturally through stories as our brain pieces together the parts of a sentence.
Combine reading with the audiobook and you have a powerful tool to learn English vocabulary quickly. You can work on all areas of your English:
- reading,
- writing (testing yourself with the audio),
- speaking (through shadowing),
- and listening.
