Yesterday was the first day of Spring!
I love spring because it means warmer weather and flowers start to bloom. I’m currently in Croatia and I took this photo of the flowers there. Let me share with you a few spring season idioms and keywords we use around springtime.

Spring fever
Spring fever is any change in mood or behavior which is experienced with the start or spring. Usually a feeling of restlessness and excitement because spring is coming, and the weather is getting warmer.
Example: I can’t wait for warmer weather, I have spring fever.

To spring to life
To suddenly start moving and become very active or busy.
Example: This town springs to life in summer.

Spring cleaning
To thoroughly clean a place, especially in springtime.
Example: Today I’m going to spring clean my kitchen.

April showers bring May flowers
Spring time can be a time of rain, but the “fruit” of the rain is the beautiful blossoms we experience in the middle of Spring.
Example: “Wow, it’s rainy this month!” “Well as they say: April showers bring May flowers.”

Spring Chicken
to be young and full of life and energy.
Example: I’m no spring chicken! I can’t climb that mountain. (note the grammar is not correct, but the phrase is stronger in this format. A grammatically correct way to say this would be: I’m not a spring chicken.
