Camille: Do you like animals?
Calvin: I do like animals. And I’ve thought about getting a little bunny for our kids because they love them.
Camille: I like cheetahs.
Calvin: I don’t think we should get a cheetah.
Camille: Yeah, they eat too much and I think it would be impossible.
Camille: Now, shall we get started?
Calvin: Let’s do it.
Camille: Calvin, I’ve been thinking. I really want a pet.
Calvin: A pet? That’s a great idea. What kind of pet are you thinking about?
Camille: I’m not sure yet. Maybe a cat. They’re so cute and independent.
Calvin: True. But dogs are great too. They’re friendly and fun to play with.
Camille: That’s true. But they need a lot of attention.
Calvin: Yeah, that’s something to consider. Do we have time to take care of a dog?
Camille: Maybe we should make a list of pros and cons.
Calvin: Good idea. Okay. For the dogs—pros: they’re loyal, playful, and great companions.
Camille: But cons: they need lots of walks, training, and attention.
Calvin: Right. Now, for cats—pros: they’re independent, quiet, and easy to take care of.
Camille: But cons: some people say they’re not as affectionate as dogs.
Calvin: That’s true.
Camille: Hmm. What about a rabbit? They’re cute and don’t need walks.
Calvin: That’s true.
Camille: But they need a lot of space to hop around.
Calvin: Really? They’re pretty small.
Camille: Yeah. And we don’t have a big backyard.
Calvin: What if we adopt a pet from a shelter?
Camille: That’s a great idea. There are so many animals that need a home.
Calvin: Yes. And we can visit the shelter and see which pet we connect with.
Camille: I love that. Maybe we’ll find a cat that acts like a dog.
Calvin: That would be perfect.
Camille: Okay, so what do we need before we bring a pet home?
Calvin: Hmm. Food, bowls, a bed, and toys.
Camille: Toys are important. And we should read about how to take care of them properly.
Calvin: Yes. It’s important to be responsible pet owners.
Camille: Yes. I’m so excited. When should we visit the shelter?
Calvin: How about this weekend?
Camille: Perfect.
Calvin: I can’t wait to meet our future pet.
Camille: Me too. This is going to be so much fun.
Calvin: Or maybe pets.
