Mail English vocabulary

Learn some different English vocabulary when it comes to the mail.

Mail Lady (or mail man) – the person delivering the mail

Deliver the mail – When the mail is put in the mailbox or on your porch

Get the mail – Go to the mailbox and grab the mail and bring it to the house

A lotta mail – A lot of mail, many letters

Sort through the mail – look for good mail and junk mail

Package – delivered in a box rather than a envelope

Postcard – a small photo with note on the back usually sent from foreign destinations

Coupon – a discount card to bring to a restaurant or shop when purchasing something

Sales Flyers – Companies advertising their products with sales or coupons

Junk (mail) or garbage – Mail you don’t want

Magazine – A publication sent monthly or quarterly about an interest or topic

Bank statement – Information about your bank account and the money in it
