Setting the table
Ivory is going to help me set the table;
So let’s clear the table, Ivory.
So I have a rag. (rag meaning: a piece of old cloth, especially one torn from a larger piece, used typically for cleaning things.)
I’m just gonna wipe down the table.
I guess the Snowman is our centerpiece. (centerpiece meaning: a decorative piece or display placed in the middle of a dining or serving table.)
Can you get the plates, Ivory?
These are glass plates.
and We need the glasses.
We have glass and plastic (cups).
put them on the right side.
and then we have the silverware. (silverware meaning: dishes, containers, or cutlery made of or coated with silver.)
You do the forks.
I’ll do the knives.
You can do the spoons, Ivory…
and I will get the napkins
We actually don’t have any napkins so
I’m gonna use paper towel
and then just fold it. (fold meaning: bend [something flexible and relatively flat] over on itself so that one part of it covers another. ex: “she folded all her clothes and packed all her bags”)
We also don’t have a tablecloth or placemats
We’re pretty simple in our house.
how do you like to set your table?
